Strong thunderstorms swept through Jackson County on February 24, dropping several inches of water and covering county roads. As the storms eased up, reports of road closures were collected by the Jackson County Sheriff's Office and Arkansas Highway Department.
A short time after dark, the Sheriff's Office received a call from Farmer's Electric Coop informing that Beedeville had been severely damaged by the storm system. Deputies responded to Jackson County road 118 and found several buildings destroyed at the Madden Farm and Thomas Farm.
The National Weather Service responded the following Monday and determined a 50 yard wide EF0 tornado had spun through at approximately 85 miles per hour and was on the ground for approximately a quarter of a mile.
