The Newport High School HOSA (Health Occupations Student Association) students won many top awards at the state competition held in Hot Springs last week. The students will attend national competition in June. The team consisting of Emma Jackson, Brett Bennett, Nathan May, Anna Jackson, Hailey Lemons, Jessica Allen, and Savannah Scudamore won 1st place in Parliamentary Procedure. Other winners include 2nd Place- Job Seeking Skills- Kianna Fite, 2nd Place- Medical Assisting- Adrienne Ross, 3rd Place- Medical Assisting- Kayla Fite, 3rd Place- Nutrition- Christina Murphy, and 3rd Place- Dental Terminology- Taniya Keener. Nathan May and Brett Bennett were re-elected to the Arkansas HOSA Executive Council for 2018-19. Congrats to these outstanding students and The Medical Professions Teacher Kathryn Hopkins.
