According to a press release from the Newport Police Department, the agency is trying to identify an unknown suspect who broke into a local business last week.
The burglar entered the building by removing a section of the outer wall and then spent about an hour tearing away enough of an interior wall to gain access.  Once inside, he grabbed six handguns from the display case and  fled the premises leaving the same way he entered.
A copy of the surveillance video was given to officers for evidence.
Newport officers Detective Kyle Williford, Lt. Larry Dulaney and Lt. Patrick Weatherford responded to the business owner’s call.
