After many thoughts, prayers and visits from the citizens of Jackson County I, Jim Bishop, have decided to seek the office of Jackson County Sheriff. I served as your Sheriff form 1994 until 2005.
As your Sheriff I worked hard to make this county a better and safe place to raise our families. I would like to continue this work. My door will always be open to the people of this county. No matter how small or large your problem is, I will address it with a fair and open mind.
My reputation as your Sheriff stands on its own merit. I have worked for the Newport Police and Fire, Tuckerman and Swifton Departments. I served one term as Justice of the Peace. In 2009 Governor Mike Beebe appointed me to the Jail Standards Board, which I currently serve on. My job as your sheriff is to uphold the laws of the land and to be a servant to the people of this county. That is what I will do.
