IMRAC, ASUN to sponsor free concert

The Iron Mountain Regional Arts Council and Arkansas State University-Newport present a free Bluegrass concert at the ASU-Newport Center for the Arts at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 17. Performing will be The Old School Band.
The Old School Band performs a diverse range of hard-driving bluegrass, folk and mountain music which is typical of our Arkansas heritage. The band uses banjo, mandolin, guitar and upright bass to accompany their harmonic vocals. In addition to traditional music, audiences will enjoy fun folk instrumentals.
Band members of the Old School Band are Danny Trawick, guitar; Tara Sky Ludwick, vocals, banjo, mandolin, autoharp; Steve Trawick, vocals, guitar; and Shane Fudge, upright bass.  Shane is the band director at Newport High School.
Opening for the Old School Band are the Cash River Soggy Bottom Boys. Founded in 2005, the group has performed all over Northeast and Central Arkansas.  All of the members are natives of Grubbs. They sing and present clean, family comedy. Members include Ralph Emery, Emmett Campbell and Dwight Pippenger.
The concert is free and open to the public.
