James “Doc” Gardner passed away September 8, 2018

Mr. James “Doc” Gardner, 76, of Tuckerman departed this life on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro. He was born on December 23, 1941, in Cash, the son of the late Thurman Taylor and Cleva Bell (Collins) Gardner.

Doc was a great mechanic and began his career in 1969 working for Mr. Ellington in Tuckerman; in 1972 Doc bought the shop and worked until his passing. He enjoyed doing woodwork and collecting Coca-Cola and cowboy memorabilia.   

Doc was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Randy Gardner; and his parents.

He leaves behind his children, James Gardner, II and wife Laura of Tuckerman, John Gardner and wife Hattie of Tuckerman, and April Horton and husband Michael of Jonesboro; brother, Rickey Gardner of Searcy; eight grandchildren, Megan Cherry and husband Steven, Taylor Runyan and husband Harrison, Shelby Gardner, Brooke Gardner, Kenadi Gardner, Derrick Horton(Christy), Shane Davis (Beth); great granddaughters, Maren James Cherry and Lula Saige Runyan; niece, Candice Holeman; nephew, Rickey Gardner; God Children, Rylee Miller, Kasen Jaggers, Reese and Molly Rathel; other great grandchildren, Caleb, Camron, and Ryder Horton, Ashton and BayLee Davis.

Life Celebration will be from 6:00 to 8:00 Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Dillinger Funeral Home.
