Tommy Lee Suggs, Jr. passed away January 1, 2019
Tommy Lee Suggs, Jr., 54, of Newport departed this life Tuesday, January 1, 2019. He was born August 7, 1964 to Tommy Lee Suggs, Sr. and Carolyn Steel Suggs Burton and was a member of First Baptist Church in Diaz. Tommy was employed by Southwest Steel and formerly employed by Arkansas Department of Corrections for 12 years. He enjoyed riding horses, hunting deer, rabbit and squirrel, fishing, grilling and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Sylvester and Dorothy Steel, and Dorothy Davis; and aunt, Diane Steel Mount.
His survivors are his mother, Carolyn Steel Suggs Burton (Albert) of Newport; fiancé, Teresa Washington of Newport; son, Tommy (TJ) Grady of Conway; daughters, Shera Suggs of Little Rock, Sheena Suggs of Conway, Carmil Suggs of Conway, Amanda Suggs of Little Rock, and Alayshua Grady of Conway; sisters, Liz Crite (Ira) of Newport, and Francine Murphy of Newport; thirteen grandchildren, nieces, Ashley Crite, Brandy Thomas (Vinson), Christina Murphy, and nephew, Paul Crite; aunt, Vallery Steel of Diaz; uncles, Rickey Steel (Monica) of Newport, Montell Steel (Eileen) of Kensett, and Therman Mount of Kensett; special friends, Sonny Hardaway of Newport, Johnny Smith of Newport, Barbara Wren of Newport, and Tracy Washington of Chicago; and a host of cousins and friends.
Funeral service was 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
Burial was in Shiloh Cemetery.
