Mr. Shelby Boston, 89, of Newport died Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009 at Jonesboro. He was born Aug. 25, 1920 in Marcella, the son of J.N. and Eula Boston.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Melba (Hess) Boston; two brothers, William Neal Boston and James A. Boston; and his parents.
Mr. Boston is survived by one daughter, Ann Boston of Newport; one son, Danny Boston of Little Rock; a brother-in-law, Herman Hess of Rocky Hill, N.J.; his sister-in-law, Mary Conner of Augusta; and three nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009 at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation was Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009 from noon until service time.
