Mr. William Linton Atkinson, 68, of Newport died Monday, June 15, 2009 at Newport.  He was born June 22, 1940 in Bald Knob, Arkansas the son of John Linton and Aretta Elizabeth (Houchins) Atkinson.
Mr. Atkinson was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Margie Welch.
He is survived by two sons, Mark Anthony Atkinson of Searcy and William Dean Atkinson of Ash Flat; two daughters, Trenia Marie Corter of Pleasant Plains and Becky Elizabeth Clark of Newport; two half brothers, James Mansfield of Floral and A. Z. Mansfield of Collinsville, Okla.; four sisters, Blanche Henderson of Newport, Beatrice Cook of Saffell, Shelia Loften of Newport, and Linda Atkinson of Pennington; 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Wednesday at Sandhill Cemetery.
