Mr. Kemmel Hill Eldridge, 89, of Alicia died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009 at Walnut Ridge.  He was born Jan. 20, 1920 North of Swifton in Jackson County, the son of Luther Maurice and Jessie (Mahan) Eldridge.
Mr. Eldridge was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathleen (Street) Eldridge on Sept. 18, 1964 after 24 years of marriage; his parents; two brothers, J.Q. Eldridge and Lones Eldridge; four sisters, Dovie Mendenhall, Bethel Burge, Bessie Mahan, and Fay Swink.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Wilma Ann (Simpkins) Eldridge of Alicia; one daughter, Donna Patterson and husband, Randy, of Alicia; one sister, Nina Holiday of Jonesboro; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009 at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will be in Swifton Cemetery.  Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009 from 1 p.m. until service time.
