Eva M. Pruett, 70, of Newport died Friday, Jan. 15, 2010 at North Little Rock.  She was born May 5, 1939 at Jonesboro, the daughter of Mack and Eva Marie (Williams) Ellison.
Mrs. Pruett worked alongside her husband, Dexter, at Pruett’s Nursery until her retirement in 2000.  She enjoyed working at the nursery and visiting with her customers.  Mrs. Pruett loved to cook, watch her “stories”, CMT, and St. Louis Cardinal baseball.  Her greatest enjoyment and love, however, was time spent with family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Jim Ellison; and her parents.
Mrs. Pruett is survived by her husband, Dexter Pruett; two sons, Ricky Dixon of Waldenburg, and Danny Dixon of Fisher; two daughters, Lorrie Hill of Weiner, and Tabatha Dowell of Jonesboro; six brothers, W.M. Ellison of Jackson, Tenn., Norman Ellison of Cash, Calvin Ellison of Rogers, Wayne Ellison of Jonesboro, Butch Ellison of Jonesboro, and Tommy Ellison of Jonesboro; three sisters, Maxine Everett of Norwich, Ct., Cleta Ellison of Jonesboro, and Janie Dunn of Jonesboro; and seven grandchildren, Meagan Dixon, Travis Dixon, Brian Dixon, Seth Hill, Shea Biggs, Gabriel Dowell, and Aiden Dowell.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18, 2010 at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home.  Interment followed in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.  Visitation was held Sunday, Jan. 17, 2010 from 6-8 p.m.
