Mr. Billy Joe Hardin, born: Tupelo, AR. April 28, 1924.  Graduated High School at Newport, attended ARK Tech and played baseball.  Worked for International Harvester Co. in several southeast states before coming back to Tupelo to go into farming.
Served on Jackson County Conservation District Board, Ozark Foothill RC&D Board, Farm Credit Board and Overcup Drainage Board.
He retired in 1990.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Luther Hardin; his son, Billy Joe Hardin, Jr.; his wife of 57 years, Doris Bankster Hardin; brothers, Millard G. Hardin, Luther S. Hardin, Jack K. Hardin; sister, Eleanor Hardin Conn.
He is survived by sister-in-law, Betty Huie and husband Thomas of Augusta; Crystal Hardin of Searcy; Mary K. Hardin of Tupelo.  Also special friends, Glen Gilbert of Little Rock and Ruth Ann Patterson, faithful caregiver of Tupelo; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010 at Augusta Memorial Park at 1 p.m. 
Arrangements entrusted to Rhodes and Son Funeral Home of Augusta.
