Willie (Billy) Peel, 73, of Newport, passed away Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010 at Baptist Health Medical in Little Rock. He was born Jan. 31, 1936 in Newport to the late Alex and Ethel Peel.
He is survived by three sons, Willie Peel, Jr., David Peel, Alex Peel, all of Anderson, Ind.; three daughters, Yvonne Phillips of Newport, Cortnie Turner of Anderson, Ind., and Regina Fuller of Peoria, Ill.; one brother, Jimmy Peel of Peoria, Ill.; six sisters, Sally Peel, Tommie Hearton and Carolyn Johnson, all of Newport, Virginia Balentine of Waukegan, Ill., Bessie Cox and Jackie Williams, both of Canton, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010 at the Morning Star Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Landrum officiating. Interment will follow in Post Oak Cemetery in Newport. Visitation will be held at 12 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010.
