Mrs. Lorene Helen Whittaker, 87, died peacefully with her friends and family by her side Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009. She was born Sept. 16, 1922, a daughter of Walter and Millie Sneed. She was married to her husband Troy Whittaker for 50 years. He precedes her in death.
Survivors include one son, William Whittaker; one daughter, Virginia Miller; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Whittaker enjoyed sewing, quilting, and cooking. She was a member of Speedway General Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Thursday Oct. 22, 2009 at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Greenwood Chapel, 481 W. Main St. Greenwood Ind. from 4-8 p.m. A funeral service will be Friday, Oct. 23, 2009 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Ross will officiate.
