Mrs. Norma Jean Schales, 46 of Hoxie, formerly of Newport, died Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009. 
She was a member of the Pentecostal Church and preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Georgie (Jones) Barnes; and one grandchild, Bailey Cotty.
Mrs. Schales is survived by her husband, Tommy Schales of Hoxie; two sons, Michael Schales (Amy) of Hoxie, and Scotty Schales (Tina) of Trumann; three daughters, Connie Baker (James) of Lake City, Tina Greer (Joey) of Trumann, and Pennie Cotty (Lenny) of Trumann; one brother, George Barnes of Oklahoma; two sisters, Sharon Malott of Bradford, and Brenda Russell of Trumann; two half-sisters, JoAnn Hisaw of Trumann, and Barbara Bennett of Oklahoma; and 12 grandchildren. 
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009 at Oakland Hill Cemetery.  Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009.
