Mr. James Hanlin, age 90, of Searcy died Sunday, June 7, 2009. He was born Oct. 8, 1918 in Broad Acre, Ohio, the son of Raymond Duie and Ossie Mae (Grimm) Hanlin.
Mr. Hanlin worked at Revere Copper and Brass 27 years, and was a member of First Christian Church. He was a World War II Navy veteran. Mr. Hanlin enjoyed playing music, fishing, hunting, and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Louise (Sutton) Hanlin; his second wife, Opal (Helms) Hanlin; one daughter, Donna Jean Zeller; one brother; three sisters; and special friend, Goldie Stephens.
Mr. Hanlin is survived by two sons, Emmitt Hanlin of Searcy and Elwood Hanlin and wife, Janet, of Kensett; two daughters, Francis Hoage and husband, Robert, of Franklin, N.C., and Aritta Tucker of Batesville; one sister, Betty Harris of Mingo Junction, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at Coffeyville Cemetery. Visitation was Tuesday, June 9, 2009 from 7-9 p.m.
