Kell Motors season comes to close in Zone 2 Tournament

The Zone 2 American Legion AA Tournament went exactly to form as regular season champion Harrison rolled through the four-team field outscoring their opponents 37-6, while the other three teams battled to their game's final outs.

Taylor-Made Ambulance finishes superb season

The Newport Taylor-Made Ambulance American Legion baseball team recently completed one of their most successful seasons in years by finishing second in the nine-team Zone 2 Junior District Tournament in Mountain Home while posting a third place finish in the Junior State Tournament in Sheridan.  
Zone Tournament play saw Newport lose its opening game to Searcy 6-5 before winning four in a row (eliminating Wynne, Batesville, Seams of Jonesboro and Mountain Home) to reach the championship game.

Community asked to support Cross in Championship quest

Newport’s own Caleb Cross is currently in Moncton, Canada to run in the 13th IAAF World Junior Championships which began Tuesday, July 19 and will conclude July 25 at the newly built Stade Moncton 2010 Stadium.
