Newport Lady Greyhounds Volleyball has been on the road since the season opener. On Monday, August 28th, the team travelled to Hoxie to take on the Lady Mustangs. Unfortunately, the team came up short, losing in three; 25-7, 25-16, and 25-9. They more than made up for the loss the next night, Tuesday, August 29th. The Lady Hounds travelled south to Harding Academy and won in three; 28-26, 25-19, and 25-22. In the first match, the Lady Hounds were down by six and came back to win. Emma Jackson played an excellent game. She had 15 serves and five kills, followed closely by Kianna Fite with 17 serves. Another Lady Hound, Chloe Hardaway, dominated the net with ten kills and nine blocks. Sophomore Kaylee Wells held her own with seven kills at the net. Setters, Madalyn Smith and Jimena Macais, made the game look effortless by contributing a total of 60 assists between the two.
    On Thursday, August 31st, the Lady Hounds travelled to Cedar Ridge ready to play ball. The team ran the score and won in three: 25-8, 25-10, and 25-13. The Lady Timberwolves were unable to compete with the Might Hounds. Emma Jackson had seven kills and 27 serves, while Chloe Hardaway and Kaylee Wells had nine kills each.  Jimena Macais contributed to the win with 19 serves.
     The Lady Hounds travel to Southside to take on the Southerners tonight. The first game begins at 4:30 pm.  Pictured are the Jr. High Lady Hounds.
