The Newport Greyhounds defeated Manila 49-12 in the last game of the regular season. The Hounds begin playoff action tomorrow night against Glenrose. Glenrose is a number one seed, so the Greyhounds will travel for the game. Although the Greyhounds are a fifth seed in conference rankings, the numbers do not show an accurate picture of the standings. The 3-3A conference is one of the most competitive and hard-nosed, consisting of teams known for their football traditions. Glenrose is in for a shock and eye opener when they come face to face with the Mighty Greyhounds. This includes Hounds such as the “Bash Brothers” Oshae and Julius Pruitt, Colby McCoy, Alex Emery, Zane Watkins, Julius Clark, Tyrell Friar and a host of others. The Hounds have undeniable speed and grit in backs such as Joe Broadus and Monquell “Pooh Bear” Cox.  Quarterback Cash Forrester leads his offense with precision and effectiveness. Game time tomorrow night is 7 pm. If unable to attend, the game is broadcasted live on FM 96.7, can be found on Sound of the Hounds on Facebook and recapped by Cable 15TV.
