Northside took control in the first half of Saturday's Great 8 tournament championship game, defeating Camdenton, Mo., 66-54, in Rogers.
The Lady Bears (6-0) led 19-12 at the end of the opening quarter and extended it to 10 points in the second, 27-17.
Northside also led 29-20 at halftime and then went up by 12, 47-35, at the end of three quarters.
Freshman guard Jersey Wolfenbarger led the Lady Bears in Saturday's win as she had 21 points. Junior forward Sara Bershers added 12 points.
Northside returns home next week as the Lady Bears will serve as the host team for the annual Tournament of Champions, which begins Thursday.
NHS Grizzlies split
Northside split two games in the consolation bracket of the Arlington (Texas) Classic on Saturday.
In the first game of the day, the Grizzlies rallied from a 35-21 halftime deficit to edge Red Oak (Texas), 54-51. But Northside was defeated by Midlothian (Texas), 67-58, in the finals of the consolation round.
Against Red Oak, the score was tied at 51-all late before Northside's Garrett Keller hit a go-ahead basket. Keller then hit a free throw in the closing seconds for the final three-point margin.
Isaiah Joe finished the game with 28 points. He also hit four 3-pointers and grabbed 12 rebounds to go with four steals and two assists.
Joe then had 22 points and seven boards in the loss to Midlothian. Kentrell Jacobs added 11 points and hit three 3's.
The Grizzlies (3-4) will travel to Blue Springs, Mo., next weekend to take part in another tournament.
Van Buren 60, Mountain Home 45
BOYS — The Van Buren Pointers erased an early 10-4 deficit Saturday with a convincing 60-45 win over Mountain Home in the third place game of the Citizens Bank Classic.
The Pointers led 28-17 at the half before the Bombers clawed back to within 32-27 in the third quarter.
Jordan West led the Pointers with 20 points. K.J. Stewart and Presley Kindrix finished with 11 each.
Magazine 66, Paris 52
BOYS — Randon Baumgartner scored 16 points to pace the Magazine Rattlers defeated the Mansfield Tigers ON Saturday, 66-52.
The Rattlers' Chase Gibson finished with 10 points for the winners (4-3).
Kris Graham had a team-high 13 points to pace Paris (2-4). Grayson Moore and Jordan Moore had 10 points apiece.
Magazine 63, Eureka Springs 27
GIRLS — Kelsey Krigbaum had 23 points Saturday to fuel Magazine (4-6) to a 63-27 blowout of Eureka Springs at the Lavaca Tournament.
Just a junior, Krigbaum also had 11 rebounds and three assists in the win. Teammate Hannah Smith had nine points and six rebounds and six assists.
Magazine's Reagan Pickartz had five points and 10 rebounds.
Katelyn Ross led Eureka Springs (3-9) with a team-high 12 points.
Mena 70, Subiaco 65 (OT)
BOYS — The Mena Bearcats outscored Subiaco 9-2 to at the end of regulation and overtime to post a 70-65 victory Saturday at the Citizens Bank Classic.
Connor Harvey led the winners with a game-high 28 points. Blake Seals added 25 points.
Devon Forst led Subiaco (5-3) with 19 points. Teammate James Taylor had 15.
Waldron 53, Dardanelle 50
BOYS — One day after scoring 42 points, Waldron sophomore Payton Brown poured in 33 points to pace the Waldron Bulldogs to a 53-50 win over the Dardanelle Sand Lizards.
Sophomore guard Jacob Avila added nine points in the Bulldogs' victory.
Booneville 30, Waldron 24
GIRLS — Sophomore Baylee Moses scored 12 points and gobbled up eight rebounds Saturday to pace the Booneville Ladycats (4-4) to a win over the Waldron Lady Bulldogs.
