Lady Hounds Basketball played in the Northeast Arkansas team camp at Nettleton High School in Jonesboro last week. The team won two games and lost two games.

During the first day of team camp, the team beat Cross County 34-15, but lost to Gibson County, Tenn. Gibson County had a 26-2 record last season.

"We played a very competitive game against them," Head Coach Victoria Atchley said. "We were down six at half time. The team ran the court with them well, but just could not finish the game strong."

During the second day of the tournament, the Lady Hounds lost by two in overtime against Manila in the first game.

"We fouled with five seconds left and Manila made both free throws," Atchley said. "Our buzzer beater went in and out."

The team won the second game by one in overtime against Batesville-Team2.

"The girls worked hard the entire game, played well as a team and had great communication," Atchley said. "I was impressed by the way they played after having an entire month off."

Atchley has recently returned from maternity leave.

"We have a lot of things to work on," she said, "but the girls truly impressed me by the way they played and worked together as a team."
