The Tuckerman Bulldogs hit the road Tuesday night in search of a much needed 2-3A victory over the Harrisburg Hornets.
Fueled by a triple-double from junior Cade Niswonger, the Bulldogs knocked off Harrisburg 75-54 on the road.
Niswonger led the Bulldogs with 27 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists while Brandun Barnett chipped in 15 and Spencer Shannon added 12 as three players were in double figures.
Matt Slagley had eight points and pulled down 10 rebounds while Trey Thornton added six points, Tyler Chatman had five and Rowan Mason chipped in with two to round out the scoring.
Tuckerman (5-13) built a 19-13 lead after the first period before stretching it to 39-25 at intermission.  The Bulldogs carried a 50-40 lead into the final frame.
The Bulldogs will be on the road Friday night at Earle for junior boys and senior boys action.  Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
Hoxie 70 tuckerman 49
Friday the 13th turned into a horrific outing for the Tuckerman Bulldogs as they traveled up Highway 67 to Hoxie for senior boys action.
Hoxie built an early lead, 20-9 at the end of the first period, and cruised to a 70-49 victory.
The Bulldogs trailed 37-18 at halftime and 53-27 at the end of three quarters.
Tuckerman was led by Cade Niswonger’s 20 points while Spencer Shannon chipped in 10 points and a game-high 10 rebounds.
Rowan Mason tossed in eight points, Matt Slagley chipped in with three and Brandun Barnett added two.
MANILA 59 (G) TUCKERMAN 19
In senior high girls action, the Tuckerman Lady Bulldogs ran into a buzzsaw Monday night as the Lady Lions of Manila upended the hosts 59-19 at Bly Story Fieldhouse.
Katherine Francis and Kaitlyn McGonigal led Tuckerman with five points each while Hannah Davis chipped in four.
Sara Shipman led Tuckerman with five rebounds while McGonigal pulled in four.  Francis grabbed three boards.
Tuckerman 37 Manila 34 (Jr. G)
In junior high girls action, Tuckerman outscored Manila 20-8 in the second half to overcome a nine-point deficit, 26-17, and escape Bly Story Fieldhouse with a 37-34 victory.
Hannah Dilday paced Tuckerman with 18 points and five rebounds while Hailey Clark added eight points.  Brianna Phillips had four points, while Deria Ratliffe, Julianna Smith and Bridgett Manuel had two points each.  Shelby Gardner rounded out the scoring with one point.
Ratliffe tied Dilday with a team-high five rebounds, Clark added four.
