Stacy Wagner has been selected to be the 2011 Jackson County Woman of the Year by the Newport Independent.Wagner donates her time to Jackson County Relay for Life, March of Dimes Walk for Babies,  Jackson County Rubber Duck Race for Jackson County March of Dimes,  Newport Area Chamber of Commerce committee for Arkansas Scholars Programs, Christmas Parade Committee, Chamber Board Committee and Tuckerman Cub Scouts Webelos Den #43.
Helping others is important to Wagner.
"I feel we all have been blessed with gifts and talents that we need to share with others,"  Wagner said.  "I have never considered myself gifted or talented by any means, but I do have energy and a good attitude.  I feel like that is what I am blessed with and I need to share.  I love being a part of a team and planning events and fundraisers to help others."
Finding enough time to work with all those different organizations could be a struggle for some, but not for Wagner.
"I devote as much time as is needed to complete whatever project we are working on at the time,"  Wagner said.  "I am so fortunate to work at M&P Bank and our senior management encourages us to take part in community activities and projects.  I have often worked during lunch hours, after hours, at home, or on weekends if the work needed to get done."
Wagner is also a youth leader and Sunday school teacher at Tuckerman United Methodist Church and a member of the Tuckerman High School Alumni Association.
"I am thankful to God for the opportunities he has given me to help others,"  Wagner said.
Family is also very important to Wagner.
"I have an amazing husband who supports me in all I am involved with,"  Wagner said.  "He and my family have given me time and assisted me wherever my activities have taken me.  I am so fortunate to have them and their support."
Being chosen as the 2011 Jackson County Woman of the Year makes Wagner feel honored.
"I know there are numerous other women in our community who volunteer, help others and are also very deserving of this title,"  Wagner said.  "It is also very humbling to be given this honor.  I have always felt like I cannot do anything alone or by myself. I always try first and foremost to give glory to God and to all members of my team.  Any event or project I have ever worked on has been a “team effort” and I appreciate all members who bring something to our events."
