Lieutenant Greg Ivey of the Jackson County Sheriff's Department has been placed on administrative leave with pay following an altercation between Ivey and his 61-year-old neighbor Linda Reeves of Tuckerman.
The Tuckerman Police Department responded to a call from Ivey.
The incident is currently being investigated by the Arkansas State Police at the request of Third Judicial District Prosecutor Henry Boyce.
Jackson County Sheriff David Lucas said in a letter that he found no written complaints in Ivey’s personnel file, but it does contain “letters of appreciation for his conduct and work.”
“During his time with the department, he has served as the department’s training officer, patrol officer and currently the patrol lieutenant,”  Lucas said.  “The Sheriff’s office has not received any written complaints on Lt. Ivey’s conduct or professionalism.”
State police investigators hope to have their investigation completed by Monday, and it will then be up to Boyce to decide if criminal charges will be filed from the incident.
