Harris Hospital Senior Circle is proud to announce a joint venture with the Newport Senior Center located in the Argus Shearer building. The goal of this venture is to provide a wide variety of services for senior citizens in our community.

One of the first opportunities to extend our educational reach will be on February 28 at noon in the Newport Senior Center located at Hout Circle. February is American Heart Month. Lunch will be provided by Harris Hospital and the program “Healthy Heart” will be presented by Donald Pate, M.D., F.A.C.S. Come on out and take advantage of the fine facilities provided for seniors to use in our community. Seniors are encouraged to utilize this space dedicated to them for their health and wellbeing. Heart disease is the number one cause of death in the United States, affecting more than 26 million Americans each year.  In an effort to spread awareness and information, Dr. Pate, who experienced a heart attack himself, will discuss heart health and heart attack symptoms. If you were unable to attend Healthy Woman's “Paint the Town Red for a Healthy Heart” program on February 19 because reservations were full, here is your opportunity to arm yourself with life-saving information and expert advice on heart health. If you plan to attend, please RSVP to Margaret Goodman at 870-512-3030 or Rebecca Pearrow at 870-512-3081.
