Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund (ASPSF), an Arkansas based nonprofit, is pleased to announce the funding of scholarships for our local students. The mission of ASPSF is to enable single parents to attain self-sufficiency through post-secondary education. Since 1990, ASPSF has awarded more than 50,000 scholarships in every county in Arkansas. ASPSF makes a positive difference in the lives of impoverished families by assisting single parents who are enrolled in college or technical programs and are seeking better-paying careers.
Open enrollment to apply for our Jackson County students for the Fall 2018 scholarships begins now and closes September 15, 2018. We encourage any student that qualifies to apply by completing the on-line application at www.aspsf.org. Choose Jackson County and follow the directions. Do not click submit until you have completed each category – just click next. If you have any questions, please contact the staff at ASUN Student Affairs or Courtney Baker at the NEDC Bldg. You must do this before 9-15-18.
With the help of our Jackson County residents we can help these mothers and fathers change their lives and the lives of their children. To donate toward scholarships for deserving students in our county or volunteer with this life-changing program, contact Betty Castling at 870 799 9170 or call Courtney Baker at 870 523 3618. You may also visit online at www.aspsf.org. Donations made to our Jackson County SPSF stay in our county, they are tax deductible and will receive an 160% matching grant from the Walton Foundation. No amount is too small. As an example a $25 donation equals a $65 contribution and $100 equals a $260 donation. We appreciate everything our county does for students.
