Bob Bradley will serve as grand marshal of this year's Newport Christmas parade on Thursday, Dec. 13. His selection as grand marshal was made through the efforts of employees of Harris Ford during the annual Newport Area Chamber of Commerce banquet and fundraising auction.
Bradley, a native of Tuckerman and graduate of Arkansas
State University, has served as executive director of the Newport Urban Renewal Agency, Newport Civic Service Commission and the Jackson County Youth Activities Association. He is a life-long member of the Newport
Booster Club and has coached many youth athletic teams.
Throughout the years, Mr. Bradley has been responsible for developing and overseeing construction for many local community projects including the Highway 69 overpass, Malcolm Avenue drainage project, McLain Street relocation and community park development.
While Bradley's background is in insurance, he has been in the automobile business since 1985 and has been employed by Harris Ford since 1999. He and wife Sherry Hinkle Bradley have been married for 53 years. They are the parents of two children, Bobbi Cheshier (Steven) and Jon Bradley (Leanne) and grandparents to Matt Long, Jessa Long, Alexis Bradley and Cooper Bradley.
In all of his passions from youth athletics to antique cars, Mr. Bradley brings with him his genuine personality, outstanding character, and dedication to his friends, family and to the community that he calls home. The Newport Area Chamber of Commerce is honored to have Bob Bradley as the Grand Marshal for the 2018 Christmas Parade.
