A Fort Smith business owner was honored this week with a state award for his contribution to the arts.
ProPak CEO Steve Clark, founder of The Unexpected arts festival and 64.6 Downtown, was selected as a recipient of the 2019 Governor's Art Award. The award specifically recognizes Clark's work in Fort Smith through The Unexpected, which has sparked development and interest in downtown Fort Smith and an increase in music and performing arts events throughout the year, according to a 64.6 news release.
This annual awards program recognizes individuals and corporations for their outstanding contributions to the arts in Arkansas. They are nominated by the public and then selected by an independent panel of professionals in the arts, the release states.
