Mrs. Nettie Irene Emery Pretty 88, of Newport, passed away May 25, 2019 in Newport. She was born January 8, 1931 to Jessie Valentine and Irene (Block) Emery at the Harper Community in Newport. Mrs. Pretty graduated from Grubbs High School and at the age of 62 got her CNA certification; she was a member of the Tuckerman Church of Christ. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, canning, feeding people, spoiling children, and being Mrs. Clause.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 64 years, Edward Pretty, Jr., eight brothers: Otho Riley, Sib Riley, Oscar Emery, June Emery, Jessie Emery, L.C. Emery, Bud Emery, W.M. (Bill) Emery.

She leaves behind her daughters, Glenda Moody and husband Jim of Tuckerman, Margaret Gates and fiancé Ronnie Strange of Newport, Sandy Williams and husband Joe of Newport, Marilyn Wagster of Batesville, Carolyn Woodard and husband Woody of Tuckerman, and Lynelle Bridgeman and husband Bill of Tuckerman;  sister Betty Ruth Howard of Pennington,  grandchildren, Lily Shannon and Laura Francis of Tuckerman, Nicky (Tristen) Gates of Newport, Tadd Gates (Ashley) of Locust Grove, Lindley Pipkins of Jonesboro, Amanda Moore of Batesville, April Montgomery, Amy (Ben) Keener of Batesville, Morgan (Katlin) Bridgeman of Ward, Meagan Bridgeman (Isaac Davis) of Newark, Zack Woodard (Brittany Brown) of Jonesboro,  Christy Woodard (AJ Clark) of Tuckerman, Blake Keener of Batesville; great grandchildren Edyn Shannon, Landon Wells, Ella Francis, Maylie Gates, Tyler Gates, Emily Sedergren, Emma Foster, Clara Irene Keener, Joshua Keener, Lucy Montgomery, Kamryn Alexa Moore, Kaylin Ray Moore, Jackson Wade Pipkins, Oliver Joe Pipkins, John Oscar Pipkins; one great-great grandchild Blakely Keener; special niece Betty Jean McClain, and many  other nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 Thursday, May 30, 2019, at Tuckerman Church of Christ with burial in Gracelawn Cemetery.  Friends may visit at funeral home on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, from 5:30 ~ 8:00.
