The Greyhound Athletic Booster Club held their monthly meeting to finalize details for the upcoming athletic season. The Fall sports include Football, Golf, Cheerleading, Whippets, and Volleyball.

            Football kicked off the season last Friday, August 17th in a controlled scrimmage against Highland at Greyhound Field. This coming Friday is the annual Meet The Greyhounds community event.

Greyhound season tickets are available for purchase now. If interested, contact Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Mark Hindsley. Tickets are $ 8 per game or $ 32 for the season. The Greyhounds have four scheduled home games this season. Newport School District Employees and community members over the age of 65 receive a discount at $ 4 per game or $ 16 for the season.
            The Jr. High School Cheerleaders have painted paw prints along Wilkerson Drive. Community can show support by purchasing the paw print and the cheerleaders will add any wording requested. The prints at $ 30 each. If interested, contact a Jr. High Cheerleader or Sponsor Ami Driver.

The Greyhound Athletic Booster Club is still accepting membership. Membership has three levels including Premium, Field Sign, and Individual.
